Trustee Egan reported to the Village of Lombard Board of Trustees on Jan. 8 that the Community Promotion & Tourism Committee, meeting on Jan. 6, heard presentations and unanimously approved requests for local tourism grant funding for the 2026 calendar year.
Presentations included a request for the Lombard Bridal Parade and an application from the Lombard Garden Club. Rick Gelfano presented three applications on behalf of the Lombard Chamber of Commerce seeking support for the Lilac Time Arts & Craft Fair, the Lombard Farmers' Market and Lombard Outdoor Vintage Days. Trustee Egan said all grant requests presented at the committee were approved unanimously and that the next step is to present the approved requests before the full board at a future meeting.
Egan also noted that the Junior Women's League presenter was unable to attend Jan. 6 and that their presentation about the lilac princesses program has been rescheduled for the committee's next meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 3.
The report concluded with no board-level action taken at the Jan. 8 meeting; the grants will return to the board for consideration.
