Committee advances Westmore Meyers safety project after split public comment

Residents expressed mixed views during the joint meeting and in emailed comments; Trustee Wagner said attendance and written input were roughly split '50‑50' for and against the project. Concerns recorded in the committee summary included potential delays caused by delivery and service vehicles blocking a single travel lane, legal parking in bicycle lanes, use of the center turn lane for passing, and driveway access difficulties. Supporters and some engineers argued the road diet could improve safety at the Prairie Path crossing and add protected bicycle infrastructure.
