The Village Board on Jan. 6 approved two ordinances amending Chapter 13 (alcoholic liquors) to increase available class liquor licenses and add local businesses.
Representatives for Bloom & Brush Art Studios told the board they seek a BYOB license to enhance their instructional classes; a proprietor said, "We are really excited to hopefully be approved for our BYOB license. I have more than a decade of experience bartending and waitressing...so I have no problems cutting anybody off and making sure everyone's having a safe time." The board moved to waive the rule requiring a second reading for both license increases and voted to approve them.
Trustees complimented the businesses’ ribbon cuttings and welcomed them to Mount Prospect. The approvals were handled as first‑reading items with motions to waive the second reading and passed by roll call.
