Board approves Gilded Fork liquor license for new Mount Prospect restaurant

The Village Board voted Jan. 20 to waive the second-reading requirement and adopt an ordinance increasing the number of Class F-3 liquor licenses by one to allow Gilded Fork LLC to serve alcohol at 1716 East Kensington Road in Mount Prospect.
Christina, one of the restaurant's owners, told the board the concept will be food-focused and family-friendly. "We are opening Gilded Fork here in Mount Prospect," she said, adding that alcohol "will not be our primary focus" but will responsibly complement the menu. She described a European-influenced menu with Polish dishes and a mix of other European cuisine, local sourcing and plans for handmade pierogies.
Trustees asked about timing and menu; Christina said they are planning to open in February and invited trustees to visit. Trustee Sacatelli thanked the owners for choosing Mount Prospect, and other trustees welcomed the new business and encouraged partnerships with local suppliers.
After brief board questions, a motion to waive the rules and adopt the ordinance carried on a roll call vote with all trustees present voting "aye." The village clerk recorded approvals from Trustee DiPrima, Trustee Gens, Trustee Grossi, Trustee Matuszak, Trustee Sacatelli, Trustee Nante and Trustee Dante.
The ordinance authorizes Gilded Fork LLC to operate with a Class F-3 liquor license and allows the business to serve alcohol in a manner staff said will complement the food service rather than be the primary focus.
Next steps: With the ordinance adopted, the owners may proceed with licensing specifics and prepare to open pending any remaining local permits and inspections.
