Carpentersville trustees approve five‑year audit contract, infrastructure master plan and several vehicle purchases

On capital equipment, the board authorized purchase of a Peterbilt single‑axle chassis and a separate fabrication/installation contract for a frontline plow truck. Staff said the two purchases together represent approximately $285,000 in total and outlined a 12–18 month buildout timeframe; trustees discussed replacement timing and resale value for retired vehicles. Trustee Frost raised questions about replacing a 2014 vehicle given its mileage and the village’s normal replacement cycles; staff responded that fleet scoring, idling hours and operating hours contributed to the replacement recommendation.
The board also approved an award to Alamp Concrete Contractors for the Menards Commercial Center write‑in/write‑out access improvements after soliciting three quotes and conducting value engineering to reach the negotiated price. Finally, trustees approved a purchase of a Ford F‑550 cab and chassis from Sutton Ford through the suburban purchasing cooperative and related body/plow/salting equipment installation through Sourcewell/Bondwell Industry (amounts for purchase and installation were read in the meeting record).
All motions for the listed contracts and purchases carried on roll call with no recorded dissents. Manager Stewart noted that staff will continue work on the EEI infrastructure plan and pursue Illinois EPA loan opportunities to finance longer‑term water and sewer projects in future budget cycles.
