At the April 28 Broken Bow City Council meeting, members approved a routine consent agenda and recorded vendor payments and payroll totals.
The consent agenda — moved by Smith and seconded by Kleeb — included approval of the April 14 meeting minutes, bills to date, the March 2026 treasurers report and a fireworks permit for Ka-Boomer's Inc. The roll call vote showed ayes from Kleeb, Wamsley and Holland.
The minutes list detailed vendor payments and a Grand Total of $255,357.27, including two bi-weekly payroll totals (4/8/26 and 4/22/26) and vendor charges for supplies, equipment and insurance. Council later voted to excuse the absence of Councilmember Russ Smith (motion by Holland, seconded by Kleeb) and then proceeded to new business.
Mayor Rod Sonnichsen offered thanks to the citys fire, law enforcement and EMS personnel for recent work during fires; Administrator David Schmidt said more board appointments will be on future agendas. The meeting adjourned at 6:15 p.m.
