Broken Bow council appoints new police officer and names members to Planning Commission

The Broken Bow City Council on April 28 approved the appointment of Brycen Woodward as a Broken Bow police officer and confirmed several members to the citys Planning Commission.
The council voted to appoint Brycen Woodward in a motion by Councilmember Joe Wamsley, seconded by Paul Holland; the roll call vote recorded ayes from Travis Kleeb, Joe Wamsley and Paul Holland. Police Chief Chris Anderson administered the oath to Officer Woodward following the approval.
The council also approved three three-year reappointments to the Planning Commission: James Duncan, Susan Porter and Jim Giradin, after a motion by Councilmember Paul Holland and a second by Joe Wamsley. The same recorded vote (Kleeb, Wamsley, Holland) carried the motion.
Additionally, Nicolle Bailey was reappointed to a two-year term ending April 2028 (moved by Wamsley, seconded by Holland). New appointments to the Planning Commission approved were Luke Wassom for a two-year term ending April 2028 (moved by Kleeb, seconded by Holland) and Hunter Thomas for a one-year term ending April 2027 (moved by Wamsley, seconded by Kleeb). All appointment motions passed with recorded aye votes from Kleeb, Wamsley and Holland.
Mayor Rod Sonnichsen thanked the citys emergency personnel and welcomed the newly sworn officer. The council did not receive public comment on these items and adjourned the meeting at 6:15 p.m.
