Mundelein board approves new liquor classification, code updates and intergovernmental emergency-useagreements

At its Jan. 12 meeting, the Mundelein Village Board approved several ordinances and intergovernmental agreements affecting licenses, municipal code language and emergency cooperation with local school districts.
The board voted to amend Chapters 5.76 and 3.8 of the Mundelein Municipal Code to create a new Class P liquor-license classification, set a corresponding fee and authorize issuance of a single Class P license to the Mundelein Park and Recreation District for use at Diamond Lake Recreation Center. The chair called for a motion; the motion was moved by Trustee Juarez and seconded by Trustee Ugasti. The ordinance passed on a roll-call vote.
Trustees also approved an ordinance reducing the number of Class H liquor licenses as they relate to the Village Green Golf Course at 2501 N. Midlothian Road; that motion was moved by Trustee Krinsky and seconded by Trustee Grieco and passed by roll call.
Separately, the board passed an ordinance amending municipal-code sections governing meetings to ensure state-law compliance and alignment with current village practice; the motion was moved by Trustee Juarez and seconded by Trustee Schwenk.
The board approved intergovernmental agreements allowing Mundelein School District 75 and District 120 to use the village Public Works facility in the event of an emergency. Both IGAs were moved and seconded and approved by roll call.
Trustees took the omnibus agenda by single vote later in the meeting, approving remaining routine items listed under the omnibus. There was no executive session.
The board did not debate changes to the rental-registration program raised by public commenters during the meeting; those concerns were recorded during the public-comment period.
