Jordan Schultz updated the board on May 11 about the district’s multi‑phase construction program for elementary and middle schools. He said phases 1 and 2 are closing out with punch‑list and commissioning items outstanding and that phase 3 submittals for the elementary schools are about 80% complete. Schultz said faculty and staff have begun second‑shift activities at Pierce Downer to accommodate a heavier workload and the shortened summer schedule.
Schultz told the board the program is on scope and on schedule, and he emphasized that the work is currently under budget; he noted roughly 15% of owner contingency remains for work yet to complete. He described typical final reconciliation procedures: withholding payments to the construction manager until commissioning and punch‑list items are completed and reconciling subcontractor invoices and soft costs during the fall.
Board members thanked the project team and administrators for the work. The district said last class/move schedules and furniture orders target August delivery and the financial closeout target is end of summer for the completed phases.
Ending: Board members expressed appreciation and the administration said it will continue weekly follow‑ups until punch lists and commissioning items are closed.
