Arts Commission previews hand-sculpture bench, SMURAL program and expanded residencies

The commission previewed public-art initiatives for spring and summer 2026: a commissioned hand sculpture that will function as a bench and is expected to be installed at the Pollinator Garden at Cortland Commons in spring 2026, a collaborative Marigolds/Monarchs/Mexican Heritage Star project (to be placed in the Pollinator Garden), and a new SMURAL program to encourage small murals with stipends for local artists. The commission also described partnerships with the Kirk Players for theatre programming and a possible music-themed farmers-market week and live-music fundraiser.
