During its Jan. 12 meeting the Downers Grove GSD 58 Board of Education completed several routine and substantive votes, all of which passed on roll call.
The board first approved the minutes of its Dec. 8, 2025 regular meeting, then approved a consent agenda that included the personnel report and financial statements. The board then voted to accept the fiscal year 2025 audit, presented earlier in the meeting.
The board also approved a settlement agreement to resolve case number 1:23‑CV‑17131 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois; the motion was moved and seconded and carried on a unanimous roll call.
Members voted to approve policy updates included in Press Issue 120, described in the meeting as mostly minor legal‑reference updates. On the construction consent agenda, the board authorized project work for Phase 3 of elementary school construction and associated food‑service work.
Clerk Melissa (recording roll calls) recorded identical 'Aye' votes from board members on the recorded motions. The meeting packet contains the settlement case number and the project authorization materials; the board moved to closed session after these approvals to discuss personnel and review minutes under the Open Meetings Act.
