Minooka CCSD 201 board approves consent agenda and awards $160,800 asphalt contract

The Minooka CCSD 201 Board of Education approved the meeting’s consent agenda and unanimously awarded an asphalt and seal-coating contract to Oak Lawn Construction for $160,800.

Mary Robinson presented the facilities bid results for work at Walnut Trails, Jones, Manuka Primary Center and Manuka Junior High, saying the district received three bids and was recommending acceptance of the lowest bid. "We're recommending tonight that we accept the lowest bidder, which is Oak Lawn Construction in the amount of $160,800," Robinson said. She told the board the amount was within expected ranges despite high oil prices and that Oak Lawn had performed the work for the district the previous two years.

Board members asked whether the price would be locked and how the bid compared with prior work. Robinson said the price will lock if the board approves and that the bid was in line with past years and similar projects. A motion to approve the asphalt bid was made and seconded; the board approved by roll call.

The consent agenda — which included an E-rate network support project and approval of the consolidated district plan required for federal and state grant applications — was moved, seconded, and approved earlier in the meeting by roll call.
