Lombard trustees hear economic development update on outreach and website modernization

Staff attended the ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centers) Las Vegas conference May 20 to promote Lombard to retailers and commercial interests. The committee also discussed plans to modernize the village's economic development web pages with an online application process for business grants, replacing a fully paper-based submission system.
Levesque said staff provided an update on businesses expected to open over the next three months and listed multiple active projects as the village moves into construction season. Staff also promoted Small Business Week (May 4–20, 2026) on village social channels to thank local entrepreneurs.
Trustee Levesque emphasized coordination between community development and marketing teams to create a clearer online landing page that explains eligibility and guides business users to resources and application steps.
