The Warrick County School Corp. board approved a package of routine items Monday, including minutes from a previous meeting, claims, teacher-handbook revisions, facility bid recommendations, new course offerings and several personnel actions.
On routine business the board approved minutes from the May 11, 2026 meeting and authorized claims and docket signing by voice vote.
The board approved revisions to the 2026 teacher handbook (changes to ECA posting procedures, job-share language and Vector Solutions mandatory training). It also approved a bid recommendation for H.VAC renovation projects, naming Dye Brothers Lumber & Construction Company as the recommended low responsive bidder for work at Booneville High School, Boonville Middle School (Logue) and an Oakdale Elementary restroom project. Board members questioned the wide differences between bids; staff said the recommended firm had spent more time at the schools and understood project scopes.
Curriculum approvals included a software development capstone course at WPCC for the 2027–28 academic year and a 'Short Stories' course for Castle High School for 2026–27; both courses were approved by the board.
The board accepted donations presented by administration: $15,200 from the Warrick County Community Foundation to fund tuition for three pre-K students for one year, pavers valued at $2,341.36 from Killebrew Brick for a Booneville High life-skills class courtyard project, $2,000 from Newberg Youth Basketball for Castle South Middle athletic equipment and $5,000 from Newberg Youth Basketball to Yankee Town Elementary for hitting pads and a winch.
Human-resources recommendations were approved: certified hires (including Lanie Harding, Emily Chappell and Sarah Copeland), noncertified hires and coaching appointments, substitute positions (including Justine Aylward) and reported leaves and resignations with effective dates. Transfers and additional resignations were recorded and approved.
All motions recorded in the transcript were adopted by voice vote; the board did not record roll-call tallies in the public record provided in the transcript.
