Fire chief reports firefighter bridge program graduation, warns of fire-truck delay

Chief Harvey told the council Springville’s first firefighter bridge program is four weeks in and will graduate Friday, May 29. "The graduation for that class is Friday, May 29th," he said, and invited council members to attend the ceremony at Faith Community Fellowship’s sanctuary.
He also reported significant delays on a previously ordered fire truck. The truck, ordered in December 2022, has not reached the construction phase and Chief Harvey warned delivery could slip to late this year or early next year. "We ordered this truck in December of 2022... they have not even started construction on it," he said, adding he will meet other manufacturers to explore options and consider contractual penalties in future orders to reduce delivery risk.
