Staff explained the package includes setup and unlimited training; the district currently pays roughly $9,650 annually for the existing provider but has experienced problems with timely updates and ADA compliance. "Our policies are not accurate and it's not because we haven't done our part to pass it," the superintendent said, urging replacement to reduce legal risk and improve transparency. Supporters said other districts have adopted Sembly and that the platform’s searchable features, language translations and statute linking would help administrators and the public.
Board members discussed forming a policy committee to review individual policies during the migration and noted the district would retain archived copies of old policies. A motion to approve the agreement carried; staff said implementation will include committee review and training for administrators.
