Planning commission continues Park Drive short-term rental appeal and related code amendment to June 23

The Glenwood Springs Planning and Zoning Commission continued two agenda items to the June 23, 2026 meeting: the appeal of a short-term rental at 319 Park Drive and a separate code amendment concerning short-term rentals and accessory tourist rentals.
Staff member Trent Hyatt told the commission the applicant for the 319 Park Drive appeal could not attend the May 26 hearing and requested a continuance; the commission moved and voted to continue the appeal to June 23 so that the applicant, staff and neighbors would have the same opportunity to participate. Commissioner Houghton moved to continue Item A and Commissioner White seconded; the continuance passed unanimously.
For the closely related short-term rental and accessory tourist rental code amendment, staff also requested a continuance to avoid confusing the issues; Commissioner White moved to continue, Commissioner Corcoran seconded, and the motion passed six to one (Commissioner Guyman opposed). Staff advised commissioners not to take public comment on those items until standards for review are discussed at the June meeting.
Both items will return to the commission's June 23 agenda, and staff said it will notify interested parties.
