Earlier in the meeting the Chair administered the oath of office to newly seated trustee Alex. The Chair led the oath: "I do solemnly swear that I will support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of New York ... I will faithfully discharge the duties of the Office of Board of Education trustee," after which the newly seated trustee was welcomed by colleagues.
The board also handled appointments and routine personnel items. Under item E1 the board accepted a part‑time monitor appointment (motion moved by Mr. Wells and seconded; the Chair called the vote in favor). The board approved items F1–F6, which included a memorandum of agreement on chaperone compensation for athletic events. A board member raised a technical concern about repeated references to "consecutive games" in the MOA, noting that some sports use multi‑set matches (for example tennis or volleyball) and asking staff to verify the wording to avoid a compensation loophole; staff said they would double‑check with the athletic director.
After completing the agenda, board members congratulated Dr. Rohrbach and the new trustee and the Chair announced a planned June reception at a full meeting. A motion to adjourn was made and seconded; the meeting ended on a voice vote in the affirmative.
