The SAUGERTIES CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT Board of Education voted unanimously May 26 to appoint Dr. Rohrbach as the district’s superintendent, removing her "interim" designation after nine months leading the district.
The Chair moved the appointment under item F7 and described Dr. Rohrbach’s tenure as having demonstrated strong communication, team building and responsiveness to feedback. "She acted like the superintendent of this district and has led this district through some tumultuous times," the Chair said. The motion to appoint was seconded by a board member and carried on a roll‑call vote.
During the roll call, each member recorded a "yes" vote: Christine Villarosa; Katie Everson Haas; Michelle Vermoglia; Sakina Irizarry; Carol Kilder; Michael Meyer; Jeffrey Riazzi; Timothy Wells; and Alex (newly seated trustee). The Chair declared the vote unanimous.
Board members offered congratulations following the vote and discussed holding a brief reception to welcome Dr. Rohrbach at the district’s June full meeting. The appointment follows a period in which the board said the title "interim" did not reflect the scope of duties Dr. Rohrbach had been performing.
The board adjourned after completing the agenda; a reception for Dr. Rohrbach was planned for the June meeting when the full board is present.
