At its May 26 meeting, the Pasadena ISD board approved the consent agenda and a number of routine and fiscal items, including grants, travel approvals, insurance renewals and bond‑related AEA adjustments. Highlights:
• Consent agenda: Approved by voice vote (no opposed votes recorded).
• Interlocal/music therapy: Approved an interlocal agreement with Harris County Department of Education for music therapy in the amount of $4,240.
• Professional development: Approved a letter of agreement with Region 4 ESC to deliver professional development at a Pasadena ISD site scheduled June 4, 2026 (as listed in the agenda).
• Grant: Approved a Reed Commingo School impact grant to L.F. Smith Elementary for $10,000.
• Spark School Park project: Approved a project and agreement for South Belt Elementary with $230,000 in funding.
• Student travel: Approved Pasadena Memorial High School student travel to New York City (Jimmy Awards) funded by private donors ($16,000) and South Houston High School travel to Washington, D.C. for a Congressional Institute art reception ($2,600).
• Budget and insurance: Approved April 2026 budget amendments and multiple insurance renewals (district‑wide programs and a property/boiler/cyber package not to exceed $9,110,253; commercial policy renewals reported with a reduced property premium and mixed auto premium adjustments).
• Bond AEAs: Approved multiple allowance expenditure authorizations for 2022 bond projects; one plumbing AEA for Sam Rayburn High School was pulled for later consideration.
• Reorganization: After closed session, trustees elected Casey Phelan as president, Paola Gonzalez as vice president, Crystal Davila as secretary and Joe Campos as assistant secretary.
