Board approves Social Services core plan, TANF contract and payables; HCPF federal amendment noted

Montezuma County’s Board of County Commissioners approved several Social Services items on May 26, including the Core Services Plan for state fiscal year 2627, acceptance of a TANF contract form, and payment of Social Services payables totaling $1,432,444.32.
Department staff (Ms. Kelly) presented the PAC family preservation report and said core services spending is allocated about $450,000 annually for prevention and family supports. The board approved the PAC signature page and the core plan, which funds a mix of home‑based interventions, life‑skills programs and supervised family time.
The board also accepted the TANF contract paperwork (27IHGA202645) noting that dollar allocations are finalized after the close of the fiscal year; staff said the county can expect allocations around August or September. Ms. Kelly also gave a heads‑up about an upcoming Equifax contract that will require signature and mentioned the state-level implementation work on a restructuring bill that could change how human services are delivered.
Separately, staff said a state amendment of roughly $17.17 million at the department level will provide Montezuma County about $125,000; county staff said they will return to the board in a future meeting to propose how to use that allocation for additional staff and overtime to meet new requirements.
