Waterboro budget committee approves corrections to personnel lines, accepts minutes

The Waterboro Budget Committee approved several clerical and personnel corrections and accepted minutes from recent meetings during its session.

The committee voted to accept the planning department budget after members discovered a missing retirement entry. Presenter (S1) noted the document had omitted one staff retirement and said the corrected planning total should be $95,112; a motion to accept that figure passed 4–0. Treasurer (S2) identified the missing longevity/retirement amounts and walked the committee through the impact on the bottom-line totals.

The committee also approved a personnel services adjustment after Treasurer (S2) pointed out longevity pay had not been included in earlier calculations. Chair (S4) recommended accepting personal services increased to $63,872; the motion was seconded and passed 4–0.

A separate correction to the tax collector retirement line was raised by Treasurer (S2). Committee member (S3) moved to accept the revised tax collector total of $42,868; the motion was seconded and approved 4–0.

Procedural business included motions to accept minutes for February 23 and March 2. Attendance and voting were noted in the record; on the minutes motions the committee recorded affirmative votes as indicated by the clerk.

The committee closed the item noting the treasurer will update the budget paperwork to reflect the corrections and that minor editorial corrections (a $139 code enforcement change) will be made administratively.

The committee adjourned its budget-correction business and moved on to the Capital Improvement Plan review.
