Bunker Hill Village adopts budget amendments, records $1.825 million HUD grant for Memorial Gessner design

Bunker Hill Village — The City Council on March 17 adopted Amendment Nos. 15–18 to the FY2025 adopted budget and Amendment Nos. 1–3 to the FY2026 budget to carry forward unexpended capital project funds, balance year-end line items for audit closeout, and record newly received intergovernmental revenue.
Finance Director Susan Grass told the Council that Amendment No. 15 would carry forward remaining Capital Projects Utility Construction Fund balances to ensure projects initiated in 2025 can be completed in 2026. The council packet detailed multiple line-item adjustments across the General, Utility and Metro funds; staff noted the annual audit process is underway. The packet also recorded that the City earned approximately $99,000 in interest for January–February.
Amendment No. 1 to the FY2026 budget records $1,825,077 in intergovernmental revenue from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the design phase of the Memorial Gessner project. Council approved Ordinance No. 26-666 (FY2025 amendments) and Ordinance No. 26-667 (FY2026 amendments) on 4-0 votes.
Finance staff said the amendments reflect routine year-end adjustments and project carryovers necessary for audit reconciliation and the timely delivery of capital projects. The ordinances were reviewed by the City Attorney prior to the vote.
