Board approves 66.0301 interdistrict agreement to host Onability program for La Crosse student

Trustees approved a 66.0301 interdistrict agreement allowing the Onalaska School District to host one La Crosse student in its Onability 18+ transition program next year and to use an open-enrollment estimate as the payment formula for nonresident districts.
The Onalaska School District Board of Education authorized a 66.0301 interdistrict agreement that permits other districts to place eligible students in Onalaska's Onability transition program.
Lori explained that preliminary outreach to neighboring districts generated interest in Onalaska's 18+ transition program, and that a 66.0301 agreement lets two districts partner so a nonresident district can place a student into Onalaska's program and pay a per-student amount based on an open-enrollment estimate. "A 66.0301 agreement allows two school districts to partner together very similarly," she said, and noted the first anticipated placement would be one student from the School District of La Crosse for 2026–27.
Trustees discussed eligibility and logistics; Lori said students may access services through the calendar year in which they turn 21 and that program screening (interviews and inventories) would determine placements. A motion to enter the 66.0301 agreement with the School District of La Crosse for 2026–27 was moved, seconded and approved by the board.
The board recorded the motion approval in the meeting; transcript shows the item passed by voice vote.
