Residents press council on Main Street snow removal; staff says state coordination needed

The director described the town's current practice: crews begin overnight clearing when thresholds are reached, using dump trucks, loaders and personnel to push snow out into the roadway and haul it to a designated riverbed/location. The director said the effort typically begins around midnight and takes several hours for downtown stretches.
Council members noted existing parking bans during snow events and reiterated the town ordinance that property owners must make sidewalks passable within 24 hours after a storm; staff said noncompliance can lead to ticketing. The Chair asked staff to continue working with state partners and property owners to improve downtown snow management.
