Donahue said the Mayor reappointed volunteers and made two new appointments to the Planning Commission, the Board of Zoning Appeals, the Code Board of Appeals, the Bicycle Advisory Board and the Downtown Partnership. "The Council approved all appointments 7 to 0," Donahue said.
The mayor also proclaimed May as Poppy Month in honor of the American Legion in Shawnee and declared June 5 as Gun Violence Awareness Day in the city, Donahue added.
The approvals were announced as routine business in the council meeting; the transcript does not identify a motion maker or seconder. The council’s 7-0 tally was reported in the meeting recap.
