County accepts fire hose donation, authorizes surplus tanker sale and approves regional human trafficking task force agreement

Lowndes County Fire Coordinator Jim Robbins presented the equipment donation; Supervisor Jeff Smith moved to accept the hose, and Supervisor Andy Williamson seconded. The board approved the donation 5-0.
For surplus property, Supervisor Leroy Brooks moved, citing Miss. Code Ann. 17-25-25, to allow private sale of the previously declared surplus pumper tanker truck (District 2) valued under $1,000. Supervisor Andy Williamson seconded and the board voted 5-0 to authorize the sale.
The board also approved and spread on the minutes a Board Order authorizing an Interlocal Cooperative Agreement among Lowndes County, the City of Starkville and Clay County to create the North Mississippi Human Trafficking Task Force. The board recorded that any earlier meeting minutes approving an agreement of the same name, including those involving Noxubee County, are revoked. The motion was made by Supervisor Trip Hairston, seconded by Supervisor Andy Williamson, and approved 5-0.
