The Chair told the committee the special meeting’s main purpose was coordination for the upcoming Willington Day event and encouraged attendance at the committee booth. "I hope to see everybody at our Willington Day booth," the Chair said, noting the committee would set up from about 9 a.m. and be present for the duration of the event.
The Chair also reminded members that Dr. Prada will present enrollment projections at the committee’s next regular meeting on Tuesday, May 26, and asked that any questions be submitted by the following day so the presenter could come prepared. "If you get them to me by tomorrow, I'll get him in his hands ahead of Memorial Day weekend so that he can come prepared," the Chair said.
The committee discussed staffing for the booth and agreed to cap the number of official representatives so volunteers or visitors who stop by do not create quorum issues. The Chair reported receiving printed materials from Tecton that will be used at the booth and said copies would be circulated to committee members for review.
Finally, the Chair outlined two upcoming public engagement events hosted by Tecton: a focused workshop on Thursday, June 4 from 3 to 5 p.m. intended as a concentrated "workshop focus group" on educational needs and pedagogy, and a larger community forum on Tuesday, June 23 to provide a project update and invite broader public input. Committee members were asked to reserve those dates and help publicize the events.
The meeting closed with the Chair thanking members and reminding them of the events and the next regular meeting.
