Via Health briefs Stokes County commissioners on Medicaid-managed-care numbers, crisis response and youth services

“We manage Medicaid for people with intellectual and developmental mental disabilities and also substance use disorders,” Doehner said, and she summarized quarterly service counts: 679 members in tailored plans, 164 in Managed Care Direct, and 78 state-funded members not in a plan. She said outpatient services and physician visits represented the largest categories of care.
Doehner noted the state moved foster-care management to Blue Cross Blue Shield effective Dec. 1 and said Via Health continues to share information with Novant and other providers. She also described a local Stokes crisis response collaborative that convenes law enforcement, EMS and providers and encouraged commissioners and residents to participate in regional trainings, including suicide-prevention sessions.
Commissioners asked for trend data comparing current service levels with past quarters and for clarification about how Via Health’s services may align with Novant’s upcoming transition. Doehner said she would provide comparative figures and the presentation materials after the meeting.
