Committee to present Fitch consultant report to public after May 5 referendum; library selected as likely venue

Willington's Emergency Services Facilities Building Committee agreed April 9 to schedule a public presentation of the Fitch consultant report after the town's May 5 referendum and recommended hosting the event at the town library.

Committee members said the Fitch presentation should be the focal point for public Q&A: the group will prepare talking points and schedule a preparatory meeting to anticipate questions that may require follow-up. "The focus has to be the presentation and the questions around it from the public," one committee member said, and members agreed to hold the public meeting at the library on a Wednesday evening around 7 p.m. if the library is available.

Members discussed outreach methods: adding the presentation to a multi-topic town mailer, posting the Fitch report link on the town website, and creating a dedicated email link routed to the selectmen's office or committee for resident comments. One member volunteered to ask the library director about dates and said they would arrange a portable audio/Zoom setup so attendees can join remotely.

Next steps: committee leads will coordinate with Fitch to set the presentation date after the referendum, assemble talking points for public Q&A, confirm library availability, and create an email link for public feedback on the report.
