"My sense is there's a lot of similarity to both," Edgar said, and recommended obtaining an authoritative determination on what HB 1377 requires so the board does not duplicate work or send mixed messages to the governor and legislature.
Members agreed staff should first determine how the new bill's requirements relate to the existing quarterly reporting and then return with a proposal about whether to form a working group or otherwise respond.
The discussion concluded with the chair asking staff for additional information before taking a next procedural step; no motion or vote was recorded on HB 1377 at the meeting.
