Mayor and council members used the meeting’s opening to introduce a roster of recent hires across city departments. Staff highlighted Sami Real as the city’s new community development director and Ashley Chisik as executive assistant for administration; IT and finance introduced Wayne Branagh as IT manager and Cherise Fulbright as an accounting specialist. Rod Probst and Chief Brian Freudenthal introduced new public-safety personnel, including Division Chief Joey Martin and firefighter-paramedic Travis Adcock.
The hires were framed as operational priorities to strengthen permitting, planning and emergency services. Staff said the new community development director has already advanced ordinance amendments and design-review work; in remarks to the council Sami Real said, “I love this job and I love the people here,” and expressed eagerness to continue planning work with council and staff.
City leaders asked departments to keep the council and public informed about implementation steps and timeline for onboarding. The introductions were ceremonial and informational only; no formal action or budget vote was taken as part of these recognitions.
