The board voted to approve a six-year district strategic plan at the May 19 meeting, moving to implement the plan in fall 2026.
A board member (speaker 11) said the document presented for approval did not fully incorporate changes discussed during an earlier work session and asked for a 30-day postponement to ensure alignment with the School Governance Act. "I was wanting to wait 30 days and take a harder look at, you know, revisit what we actually said, make sure it's aligned," the member said.
Superintendent staff recommended approval as presented; following brief discussion the board voted to approve the plan. The member's request to delay did not carry the day; the board recorded the approval and moved on to other business.
The board and administration said later implementation steps and any updates would be handled through the superintendent's office and relevant committees.
