The Tuscaloosa County Board of Education on May 4 approved the Certified and Classified portion of the Human Resources report and accepted administrative personnel actions including two resignations and one retirement.
Dr. Allison Mays, assistant superintendent of human resources, presented the report. The board approved the Certified/Classified recommendations by unanimous vote after a motion by Mrs. Portia Jones and a second by Mr. Neal Guy.
The board subsequently approved the Administrative portion of the HR report noting the resignation of Daniel Dickens, effective June 30, 2026; the resignation of Tyler Johnson, effective June 30, 2026; and the retirement of Debbie Crawford, effective July 1, 2026. The motions were moved and seconded and approved unanimously.
The board also recorded a first reading of a Fieldtrip Coordinator job description (information item) and a request by Mrs. Jennifer McAteer to address the board regarding CTE programs at Northside High School. No final action on the job description or the requested address appeared in the minutes.
Next steps: personnel actions take effect on their stated dates; the Fieldtrip Coordinator job description will proceed through the board's policies for adoption if brought back for final action.
