The Lauderdale County Schools Board of Education unanimously approved overnight trips for high school cheerleading teams as part of the meeting’s consent agenda.
Under consent item A, the board approved three trips: Central High School cheerleaders to the University of North Alabama in Florence, Alabama, June 6–9, 2026 (20 female and 1 male student), chaperoned by employees Emma Eaton and Jami Bates; Lexington High School cheerleaders to a June 16–18, 2026 camp (16 female students), chaperoned by Katie Howard and Jamie Liles; and Brooks High School cheerleaders to a University of Alabama camp in Tuscaloosa (34 female students), chaperoned by Leigh Black, Julie Gray and Robin Davis. The minutes state that expenses for each trip will be paid from local school funds.
