The Diversion Office presented its annual CB grant award, reporting the county received $63,177 this year for youth and faculty services. The services director said the office did not receive the full amount it requested and that prior years had awards in the $102,000110,000 range.
"We did not get everything we were requested," the Diversion Office services director said when describing the award and how the office will manage existing programming with a smaller allocation.
Commissioners asked how the funding shortfall would affect the office's budget and whether other county funds could commingle with the grant to cover program needs; staff said the county's budget can be tapped if necessary. The board moved to accept the award and approved that motion by roll call during the meeting.
The acceptance was limited to acknowledging receipt and awarding the funds; commissioners asked staff to report how the reduced award will affect program operations and budget before additional funding decisions are made.
