Jane Jensen, president of CASA's board, said the group saw a modest increase in its budget this year because of a leadership transition and temporary salary overlap but emphasized that the board actively seeks outside grants and donations to reduce its dependence on county funding. Jensen told commissioners the organization values the in-kind office space provided at the York County Courthouse and noted that such support reduces operating costs and helps staff attend court hearings.
Commissioners asked for a copy of CASA's submitted budget to see how the county contribution would fit in and to clarify which increases are one-time transition costs. Miller said he would provide the budget to the clerk. No formal funding action was taken during the meeting; the request will be considered as part of the county's budget process.
