City Manager Jonathan Hayes reported significant progress on the Martin Theatre renovation at the Tennessee House, citing completed concrete work, exterior walls and stairs and finished items in the theater including an elevator, base stage, electrical and lobby opening. "Significant progress has been made on the Martin Theatre renovation at the Tennessee House," Hayes said.
Hayes added that work in the adjacent Rich Building includes completed floors, work started on the elevator pit, interior walls and ongoing plumbing; HVAC and electrical work are continuing across sites. He said over the next 30 days crews will proceed with roof and interior work, HVAC and electrical installation, and elevator and stair construction, and that the full project is still on target and expected to be finished by mid-2027.
No funding totals or contract award details were provided in the update; the city framed the comments as a construction-status briefing.
