The staff member said Obsidian has "great playful puppy energy," knows basic commands such as sit and shake, and is "highly treat motivated," adding that he has done well with other dogs and is both playful and cuddly.
Jet, another German shepherd the shelter showcased, is about two years old and was described as having a "very sweet, big personality." The staff member said Jet "loves giving hugs" and greets many people with an enthusiastic embrace; staff noted he socializes well with other animals and strangers. The shelter posted a playgroup video on its social media showing the three animals running and playing together to illustrate their energy and compatibility.
On community support, the staff member announced a garage-sale fundraiser "this Saturday the 21st from 7 to 12," saying more than 10 vendor spots were filled with donated items for sale to raise funds for the shelter. The staff member also announced a kitten fostering and neonatal-care training session on March 28 at 10 a.m. at the animal shelter for people interested in fostering or learning neonatal kitten care.
