Council amends consent agenda; authorizes Horse Lake right-of-way correction and Stantec negotiations for Okanagan repairs

At its March 12 meeting the Wenatchee City Council approved an amended consent agenda that added a right‑of‑way acquisition item for the Horse Lake Road storm extension and authorized staff actions on two property acquisitions after a legal-description correction.
Public Works staff explained the original legal description listed the wrong section number and advised the council that, because the error was caught before recording, staff would obtain concurrence from property owners Charles Carmody and Sandy Owens and then record corrected documents. Council authorized the mayor to sign the corrected right‑of‑way transaction documents.
Council also authorized staff to negotiate a contract with Stantec not to exceed $225,000 and to authorize the mayor to sign the contract for Project 2606, temporary repair of the Okanagan Reservoir. William Wayans, project manager, said Stantec was selected to provide professional services to complete repairs; council approved the authorization by motion and voice vote.
Both consent approvals were carried by voice vote. Staff said they will secure owner concurrence on the corrected Horse Lake legal description prior to final recording and will proceed with negotiation and contract execution with Stantec for the reservoir repairs.
