City manager told council Minnesota DEED is accepting applications for a redevelopment grant program designed to assist communities with costs of redeveloping blighted industrial, residential or commercial sites. "Grants can pay for up to half of the redevelopment costs for a qualifying site with a 50% local match," staff said, and identified the Albert Lea family housing project at Blazing Star Landing as the intended application site.
