The Apple Valley Unified School Board met in a special session May 5 and voted to enter a closed session to conduct the superintendent's evaluation, the board chair said. The board convened the closed portion after a recorded motion "by Maria" and a second "by Amanda," and then left the public meeting to deliberate privately.
After returning at 3:12 p.m., the chair said there was nothing to report from the closed session. The board then approved the published meeting agenda and continued with brief board comments and other business.
The meeting opened with a roll call in which board members Amanda Buchanan, Maria Okpara, Renee Longshore, Anita Tucker and Rick Raleigh were recorded as present. The chair said staff would take down the superintendent evaluation and put it into writing.
The special meeting adjourned at 3:15 p.m.
