Board approves routine personnel items, fundraisers, bus drivers and a small settlement

The Northern Cambria School Board approved several routine personnel and operational items at its Feb. 17 meeting.

Hiring and personnel: The board approved hiring Allison Owens as a pool manager pending receipt of required clearances for the contract period Feb. 18 through Aug. 31, 2026, at a cost of $1,500 for that time. Board members requested a one-page agreement outlining duties and responsibilities and discussed the apprentice who could serve as backup. The board also approved an FMLA request for employee number 2601 for a three-month leave from Jan. 26 through April 26, 2026.

Fundraisers and transportation: The board approved additions to the 2025–26 fundraiser calendar, with events for marching band, an eighth-grade dance for the class of 2027 and the high school drama department. The board also approved five names for the Tri-County Transportation bus driver list: Richard Bloom, Shirley McCombee, Josephine Schultz, Alicia Weber and Chloe White.

Settlement and bills: Under legislation and policy, the board approved a settlement between Northern Cambria School District (transcript: "Northern Camry School District") and Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School in the amount of $1,725.32. The board approved payment of bills for February 2026 as presented or amended.
