"I was hoping for an update, not just myself, but for the public to get an update, since they were very, very concerned about whether or not those services would be available for their utilization," Sankey said, asking Mr. Kendall or Mr. Anderson to brief the commission.
A county staff member responding at the meeting said the county has sent its funding and that the city also has sent funding, but said the county did not know whether the state had provided funds. The staff member said the county had reached out to "Mr. Quinnliving" and hoped that person would provide information to the county and an update at the commission's next meeting.
Sankey pressed on whether Jackson Hospital had emerged from bankruptcy and noted officials had been concerned about oversight and documentation for how taxpayer funds were being spent. Commissioner Costanza said he would check on whether the hospital is out of bankruptcy.
