Ross County commissioners approve $2.7 million in weekly bills and multiple transfers

“Bills for the week came to $2,705,004.28,” the chair (S2) announced during the meeting, and the commissioners approved payment by voice vote. The chair also noted $2,266,539 of that total was tied to Planning Commission and ACGP grant funds.
On separate motions the board approved a then‑and‑now analysis, a transfer of $57,899.88 from Children Services to Jobs and Family Services, and a $285,000 annual contribution from the county general fund to the Park District. A small reallocation in the prosecutor’s office for equipment, $149.88, was also approved. Commissioners approved an appropriation from the Recovery Ohio grant totaling $78,365.16.
The board also approved a $140,000 transfer tied to the planning department’s ACGP grant portion for a Ross County park project that the chair said has been approved through the Department of Development. Asset disposal for several older county vehicles and pieces of equipment was authorized for auction as part of routine fleet management.
Procedural motions to excuse an absent commissioner and to accept last week’s minutes were made and carried by voice vote earlier in the session.
Next steps: many of these budget items were approved on voice votes during the meeting; any required paperwork for grants or state reimbursement will be completed by staff, the chair said.
