Student council and GTMS teams celebrated at April 13 board meeting

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP — The board opened its April 13 meeting with student and athletics presentations.
Anthony, the GTMS student council representative, described March activities including an American Heritage Museum program, a State House field trip and a one-mile road cleanup the student council organized. He also announced a Multicultural Night on April 29 from 6 to 8 p.m.
"We started off March strong with our American Heritage Museum," Anthony said, and thanked the board for the opportunity to report.
The board recognized the GTMS boys basketball team for consecutive Dixie Howe tournament championships and a 9–1 season finish; the coach read player names, named Ryder Chapezi tournament MVP and acknowledged Abdul Azeem ("Woogie Carrington") on the all-tournament team. Coach Franks then praised the wrestling team’s performance at the Cal tournament, noting several second- and third-place finishes and describing an inexperienced roster that nevertheless earned six medals.
Board members applauded the students and coaches and thanked community partners and families for their support.
