Keller ISD SHAC names unopposed slate of executive officers

The Keller ISD Student Health Advisory Committee elected an unopposed slate of executive officers at its April 20, 2026 meeting, closing a brief on-site ballot process conducted via a QR code.

Jody Webster, the district's Director of Health Services, outlined the nomination and voting process and the eligibility criteria under SHAC bylaws: voters must be current SHAC members for the 2025—626 school year and must have attended at least three of the four regular meetings this year. Eligible voters were identified by blue-bordered name tags and cast ballots using the meeting QR code.

With one candidate for each role, Webster announced the slate as elected: Colin Hodges will serve as chair; Stephanie Odell will be co-chair; Adeline Castleberry will be secretary; and Sandy Walker will be parliamentarian. Webster said the positions were unopposed and that the election closed after eligible members had the opportunity to vote.

The committee discussed next steps for forming the 2026—627 SHAC membership. Webster said interest forms will be opened to the Keller ISD community between May and the summer, after which the Board of Trustees will appoint members in line with the district's selection process. The chair, Summer Crow, reiterated that trustees must formally appoint the membership and that the new SHAC body is expected to begin work in August, contingent on those appointments.

The meeting record did not provide a numeric vote tally; Webster described the process for eligibility verification but did not give a final count. The vote method, candidate names and the trustees'role in appointments were discussed and confirmed during the session.

The committee adjourned its business portion to allow an external speaker to present on trafficking awareness later in the evening.
