Shana Laflam, nurse consultant for the Infant Mortality Review Program and co-chair of the committee, said the panel moved into a closed session to discuss confidential matters related to infant deaths in Connecticut.
"This is a closed discussion to discuss confidential matters related to infant deaths in Connecticut," Laflam said, announcing the committee would go into executive session. She asked for a motion; a member moved and another seconded, and no opposition was voiced before the committee recessed into the closed session.
Before the executive session, members approved the minutes from January after a motion and second. Laflam reminded attendees that public comments were welcome but that the committee would not be entering into dialogue during that period: "Just please note that this committee will not be entering into dialogue at this time." After the closed session, the committee reconvened briefly to complete closing business and adjourn.
Laflam also told members that the Department of Public Health website has been redesigned and that she would distribute the updated link: "Our websites were redone. So I will send out the new link." She reminded the group of the committee's next meeting on April 8.
No votes with recorded tallies were published in the transcript; motions reported in the meeting were moved and seconded with no objections noted in the record. The session was procedural and the substantive review occurred in executive session and therefore is not part of the public transcript.
