Director Liggins introduced the Buildings & Grounds report and turned the presentation to Mr. Haynes, who reviewed multiple roof-replacement proposals and contractor materials. Mr. Haynes said Jackson School’s roof is over 20 years old with recent serious leakage and needs full replacement; two roofs at William Penn High School will receive restoration or replacement work and surface preparation for an anticipated Schneider Co. solar installation.
Mr. Haynes also noted a finalized proposal from Snider (presented last month) and said contractors are ready to begin work once approvals are in place. A board member asked about earlier gym-roof concerns; Mr. Haynes said those areas were sealed last year and there have been no new leak reports despite recent heavy rain.
The Buildings & Grounds presentation was framed as part of the capital and maintenance priorities included in the broader budget packet and the administration invited board questions; no formal contract awards or votes were recorded in the committee session.
Next steps: administration awaits any board questions and will include the roof and related contract items in the upcoming agenda where required.
