Board approves personnel hires, 2026–27 calendar and grant resolutions for middle school repairs

Mrs. Piazza, Superintendent, said the calendar is “pretty typical” but noted one intentional change: conferences are split into two weeks — elementary conferences in October and middle-school conferences in November — to better support families and English-language learners. The board approved the calendar by voice vote.
In other business the board approved resolutions authorizing grant applications for the middle school roof and middle-school HVAC work so the district can submit those grant requests. A board member moved, another seconded and the motions carried.
The Chair asked for public comment at multiple points; none was offered. The Chair adjourned the special voting meeting at 6:11 p.m. and the board moved into its standing committee meeting.
