The Chair opened the special voting meeting and presented three personnel motions to elect support staff, a coach and volunteer coaches “pending receipt of all forms and documents required by the district.” A board member moved and another seconded; the Chair called the vote and the motions carried.
The board then took up the 2026–27 school calendar. Mrs. Piazza, Superintendent, said the calendar is “pretty typical” but noted one intentional change: conferences are split into two weeks — elementary conferences in October and middle-school conferences in November — to better support families and English-language learners. The board approved the calendar by voice vote.
In other business the board approved resolutions authorizing grant applications for the middle school roof and middle-school HVAC work so the district can submit those grant requests. A board member moved, another seconded and the motions carried.
The Chair asked for public comment at multiple points; none was offered. The Chair adjourned the special voting meeting at 6:11 p.m. and the board moved into its standing committee meeting.
Votes at a glance: • Personnel motions to elect support staff, coach and volunteer coaches — outcome: approved (moved, seconded, carried). These appointments are contingent on receipt of required forms. • 2026–27 school calendar — outcome: approved; calendars split conferences by grade level to increase family access. • Resolutions to submit grant applications for middle-school roof and HVAC — outcome: approved; motion authorizes submission of applications.
The board will conduct additional agenda votes at its March 24 meeting, including several items previewed during the standing committees.
